Páramo de Guzmán cheeses were born in 1985, focusing on an artisanal process and great care with the product to achieve a high-quality cured cheese. Once successful and taking advantage of the potential of the cheese factory's home region, the Ribera del Duero, in 1998 we began creating Raíz de Guzmán wines, following the same philosophy of tradition and craftsmanship.
This is a family winery; people are the soul of our winery, a small team in number, but large in effort, work, and heart to offer the best to our customers.
In addition, we invite you to discover an underground tunnel almost 1 kilometer long, unpredictable to the visitor's eyes. It holds stories, memories, but above all, the origin of this winery.

OUR ROOTS REPRESENT US
Our roots lie in the Burgos town of Roa de Duero, a historic village located high above the Duero River, in the heart of the Ribera del Duero region.
The winery, the epicenter of the project, is where we work with care and dedication in the fields, the grape harvest, and winemaking to offer our customers a product we can be proud of.
The vineyards, managed organically out of conviction and ethics, are cultivated each year with a more sustainable approach, but above all, one that is more consistent with our values and philosophy.
RAIZ WOULD NOT BE RAIZ WITHOUT RIBERA DEL DUERO.
The Ribera del Duero Regulatory Council is located in this town, but something much more imposing rises before our eyes: Cuesta Manvirgo. From the top, you can see the essence of Castile and a unique landscape of receding cereal fields and expanding vineyards.

Every year is a new opportunity, every harvest a new challenge. We don't make the perfect wine; we strive to improve every day and ensure that this progress is reflected in our wines.
While the Tempranillo variety will be the common thread running through all our wines, in 2020 we decided to plant a plot of Malbec, a very versatile variety that provides olfactory nuances we love. A hint of plum or fresh blackberry, a floral note of violets, or a delicate aroma of lavender will undoubtedly indicate that there is some Malbec in that wine.
The path is perseverance and effort, the goal is excellence.
